Good Afternoon to all of the hard working Builders of Perth,
As you will no doubt be aware the WA Building Industry is going through its toughest period in generations. Builders are working harder than ever and many have lost so much money over the past 2 years that they are under extreme levels of Financial pressure. Houses are taking longer than ever to build and clients are generally unhappy due to construction delays and price increases. And access to bank funding for Builders is near impossible due to the losses that many Building Companies have experienced during this Government Grant Fuelled Boom.
Well there is hope. A group of Like Minded Builders have formed the Home Builders Action Group to get our voice heard at the highest levels of Government and also to get our stories and message out tot he media to combat the negative news about unhappy clients that have been affected by the worst construction related delays in History.
To date we have met with the Minister for Commerce Sue Ellery and we have meetings booked with DMIRS Building and Energy Division and the Department of Treasury to discuss the crisis that the Building Industry is currently dealing with. We are aiming to get the Government to make changes to regulations to better protect Builders in future events and to also for them to provide Support for Builders who have been affected by the worst Financial Crisis that the Industry has ever experienced.
We have also been interviewed by David Weber from ABC News who has advised that the Interview will be going to air between 7pm and 7.30pm on ABC on Tuesday 19.09.2023. Please keep your eye out for this interview and let us know your thoughts.
We will keep you all informed of our progress in the coming weeks as we have scheduled quite a few appointments with Government Officials this week which we are hoping has a beneficial impact on the Building Industry. Please note that the wheels of Government turn slowly but we will do our best to get the quickest and best outcome for our Industry.
I would also like to request if you can please confirm your intention to join with Home Builders Action Group as an Associate Member by replying to this email. Please keep in mind that the more members we have the Louder our voice will become.
Please feel free to call me on 0412 373 404 or Damien D’Ascenzo on 0414 886 537 if you want to talk about what we are doing in more detail.
Best wishes
Yours sincerely
