Dear David,
A group of concerned builders have established the Home Builders Action Group [HBAG] http://hbag.com.au/ to represent the Building Industry during the worst financial crisis that has affected Builders throughout the country for many generations.
HBAG will speak directly to Government and to the bureaucracy underlining the seriousness of the situation and will be proposing urgent, practical solutions along with getting our message out to the Media to let everyone know the issues Builders are facing from our point of view.
Since forming HBAG we have succeeded in meeting with Minister Sue Ellery and have appointments booked to meet with DMIRS Building and Energy Division to discuss the issues with the Home Building Contracts Act and also with the Department of Treasury to discuss the financial implications for the Government by not providing support for the Building Industry during this difficult time. We are also corresponding with many other Ministers to bring to light the challenges that our Industry is facing.
As you can imagine there will be costs associated with running HBAG and also promoting our cause to the Media and in general to Social media so if you wish to support HBAG and its efforts, we would welcome your joining as an Associate Member. There is a one-off fee of $1,500 plus GST which will fund the cost of the work we do. None of this money will be paid to any HBAG officer.
This approach is to ask for your support.
You will not be asked to do anything more than support the carefully targeted programme HBAG will run including representations to local Members of Parliament and social media and advertising campaigns.

The Home Builders Action Group will be successful if it has the support of the industry
in the run-up to the next State Election. We are dealing with a very difficult problem because this government has such a big majority that it does not always think it necessary to listen to representations. HBAG is proposing a comprehensive campaign to draw attention to our position, and the more members we have the louder our voice will become.
