The Government is to be congratulated on its decision to extend the Builders Support Facility No Interest Loans Package to a third round.
The programme is specifically aimed at small to medium sized home builders hurt by the very difficult trading conditions of the past few years. And is designed to expedite the completion of homes that were started before 1 November 2022.
There is an important, new benefit in Round 3 – Builders who meet the criteria and have jobs that qualify for the assistance can now receive up to a total of $1 million. In other words, builders who qualified and received the maximum of $300,000, in each of the first two rounds can now claim $400,000 in this round. Builders who qualify but have not received any funding on the first rounds can now receive $1 million assistance.
